MANIFESTO OF ASTROLOGY
A few words on the purpose of astrology, on the eve of the New Year 2026.

Manifesto of Astrology
In an age of total egoism, largely engendered by the technological progress of the last two centuries, there remains scarcely a place on Earth untouched by modern civilisation, which bears slavery in a far worse form than anything we witnessed in the past. The shackles that bind us have changed. Now it is not so much our hands or feet that suffer the weight of iron bracelets as our souls, chained in invisible fetters of digital euphoria that lull thought and feeling to sleep, bowing our heads downward — into the very abyss of matter. Human consciousness has become more limited than ever before, despite countless discoveries and new possibilities. Not the stars and Cosmos, the mysteries of the universe and ocean depths, lost and unexplored corners of the Earth — but small devices in the form of telephones, computers, or tablets have become the Alpha and Omega of our interests and aspirations. In them is contained the entire world of most modern people. Our eyes look upward ever less and no longer marvel at the vastness of the sky, the beauty of sunsets and dawns, the peace of night, or the call of distant undiscovered worlds concealing an alluring mystery. We prefer to see all this on a screen rather than in life, thereby satisfying a spark of knowledge that has barely flickered but failed to burst into flame. Like a comet, it passes through the night, illuminating with a particle of light, only to vanish in a moment. And this suits us.
As soon as philosophy turned into a gymnastic exercise of the mind in arguments and judgements, reflections and proofs, ceasing to serve its original purpose — knowledge of self and world, and the transformation of one's nature in accordance with a chosen ideal; as soon as religion ceased to serve as the guiding star of human consciousness, leading the soul to God — science stepped onto the stage, taking the leading role in governing life. But modern science is merely a path into matter, not beyond it. It does not give birth to the dream of becoming better. For in modern science there is no that eternal light capable alone of giving meaning to life. Apart from purely theoretical searches for answers to questions of the emergence of material life, it is placed in service of technological development, geopolitical interests, and business, not moral, cultural, or spiritual progress of humanity. Of course, not all and not everywhere, but in the majority.
It would seem that borders have almost vanished and the possibility of interaction between people has become practically boundless, largely thanks to the appearance of the internet. Is this not the time to become closer and gain greater and better understanding of one another, thereby drawing nearer the Brotherhood of humanity to comprehend unity in infinite diversity? Alas, no. All this is mere illusion. It is impossible to attain true freedom while remaining a slave to prejudices, preconceived opinions, and limited conceptions. The latter will only be broadcast into the world with greater force, for the simple reason that man has remained the same, if not grown worse, while the means of his self-expression have increased in geometric progression. Even if this self-expression is of moral decline and ignorance.
The discovery of wireless communication and connection based on electromagnetic waves ought to have engendered in us greater understanding of human nature, which is also capable of being a conductor of those same forces, like satellites and antennas, without any other tools save consciousness itself. Transmission of thoughts at a distance, sounds, images, and objects — all this is the natural potential of man penetrating beyond the boundaries of the visible into the sphere of the occult and spiritual. Yet in favour of external artificiality we prefer to exert ourselves less, losing through laziness our own soul, which too often leaves the body long before physical death. For the simple reason that the meaning of life slips further and further from us. And we sink ever deeper into the quagmire of materialism. Religion no longer possesses the power and authority it had in the past, nor the light that shone at its birth. More often it is a sideline of life, some Sunday framing, but in no way the meaning of life. At least for the majority, abiding in a spiritual dead end from which there is no horizontal exit. Because the exit lies not to right or left, nor behind or in front of time, but solely and always — upward and within. Yet we prefer the material depths.
Islands of true freedom to which we might journey to find faith and hope — both in a better world and in better humanity, in a better version of ourselves — have practically vanished. And though freedom has no geographical location on the globe, there still remain on Earth places more suitable for spiritual and moral development compared with most modern cities of advanced civilisations. Yet the true location of freedom is within us, in the most secluded corners of our heart, where in silent expectation burns the flame of our soul.
You will ask what all this has to do with astrology, with which fate has bound us all by unbreakable threads? Us — who seek answers in the mirror of heaven, in visible symbols of invisible Providence. Us — who strive to see rays of primordial truth in the most ordinary. Us — who see manifestations of the One in life's tragedy and drama, in its highs and happy moments: in death and birth, losses and gains. Is this not our task as astrologers? To see the Most High in what is life. To see meaning where threads break. To see patterns of fate — particles of its infinite mosaic — in what at first glance seems unremarkable. And a blessing if we can lighten someone's burden, give counsel, or guard from an irreparable step. Not so much — someone will say. More than enough — we reply.
Perhaps our eyes are turned to screens upon which we see words and meanings, astrological charts and fates — but our souls, like our hearts, are always turned upward, whence come both meanings and fates themselves. Matter is no barrier to us — even the matter of stars burning with myths and planets filled with meaning. Our eyes penetrate further — to where the primal Light issues, compelling us to learn and comprehend, err and attain, penetrate and acquire.
Astrology has always been the highest science and the greatest of predictive arts. Such it remains to this day. Though in the hands of those few who dedicate their lives to it. But beyond answers to questions that trouble us, and beyond the veil of hidden fate in birth charts — of people, nations, and states — lies something far greater that each of us must, even is obliged, to see for himself. That truth barely visible to the eye which with the years either fades entirely in the flow of daily questions or grows brighter, illuminating not only our practice but our life. The true star of captivating happiness, thanks alone to which the astrologer can become what each of us must sooner or later become. A living, conscious soul. A particle of the single Ocean filling the Cosmos.
Astrology is not merely the art of foreseeing, but a mirror of the living Cosmos in which we see boundaries and infinity, pattern and mystery. The astrologer is not merely one who reads stellar signs. He is a witness to Presence in the motion of time. A witness that even in chance is hidden Providence, and even in pain there is meaning laid from above. We contemplate God's response in human life. We merely participate in the dialogue of soul with fate and life. The true task is not in prediction. It is in recognising this forgotten meaning.
Let the world forget the heavens and destiny if that is its choice. But we have no right to do so. For astrology is not escape from reality. It is return to reality of a higher order, where freedom reveals itself not as illusory independence but as communion. With the Eternal. And if someday one of us draws closer to who he is in his essence — then perhaps our life will not have been lived in vain. For even thousands of accurate predictions are nothing compared with what we must in the end attain. Only then will fate cease to be a mystery. Only then will we cease to fear the unknown. And only then shall we begin truly to Live.
